Shakthi Solar is a rooftop solar EPC company working across Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai. We design, install and commission grid-connected solar systems for independent homes, housing societies and commercial premises — and we stay on the file until the net meter is spinning and the subsidy has landed in your account.
We are deliberately a single-city operation. Mumbai roofs have problems that a national installer's standard template does not solve: terraces shaded by the tower next door, salt-laden coastal air that eats cheap fasteners, four different distribution licensees with four different approval routes, and a monsoon that takes a quarter of your generation for four months a year. Designing around all of that is the job.

What we will tell you that others won't
Solar is a 25-year asset, and the first conversation should be honest about its limits. If your terrace is shaded past 1 PM, we will tell you the payback is closer to eight years than four. If you are on a low tariff slab, we will tell you the savings are modest. If your building needs an elevated structure, we will price it rather than discover it mid-installation.
A quote without a shadow study is a guess. We survey first, then quote. It costs you nothing and it is the only way the generation number on the proposal means anything.

The case for solar
Why rooftop solar makes sense in Mumbai specifically
Mumbai is not India's sunniest city. It is one of its most expensive for electricity — and that is what actually drives the return.
Net metering keeps the monsoon honest
Surplus banked during the dry months offsets the June–September shortfall on your bill. Without net metering, Mumbai's monsoon would make the economics far harder to defend.
Property value and independence
A commissioned, warrantied system is a documented asset at resale, and a hybrid configuration keeps essentials running through an outage without a diesel generator on the terrace.
Low maintenance, long life
No moving parts. Panels typically run 25–30 years, needing periodic cleaning and one inverter replacement over the system's life.
A real emissions cut
A 3 kW Mumbai system offsets roughly 3 tonnes of CO₂ a year against a coal-heavy grid — the most material environmental decision most households can make at home.
Subsidy while it lasts
PM Surya Ghar is a funded scheme with a national target, not a permanent entitlement. Systems commissioned earlier claim against a scheme that is currently well funded.
