Residential rooftop solar
Bungalows, row houses and independent buildings across Mumbai. 1 kW to 10 kW on-grid systems sized to your sanctioned load, with the full PM Surya Ghar subsidy claim filed by us.
Residential solarRooftop solar EPC · Mumbai
Shakthi Solar designs, installs and commissions rooftop solar systems across Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai — and handles the DISCOM file, the net meter and the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy claim so you don’t have to.
Indicative and deliberately conservative. Based on ~118 units per kW per month for Mumbai (annual average, monsoon-adjusted), current PM Surya Ghar subsidy slabs, surplus export credited at APPC, and ₹2,000 a year for cleaning. We value a displaced unit below the top slab rate, because fixed charges stay on your bill and remaining consumption falls into cheaper slabs — estimators that skip this show paybacks that the first bill contradicts. Your real figures depend on the shadow study, roof structure and sanctioned load, and go in writing after the survey.
What we do
One team from the shadow study to the subsidy credit. No handoffs to a third-party electrician halfway through.
Bungalows, row houses and independent buildings across Mumbai. 1 kW to 10 kW on-grid systems sized to your sanctioned load, with the full PM Surya Ghar subsidy claim filed by us.
Residential solarCommon-area systems that cut lift, pump and lobby bills, plus group net metering for members. We present to the managing committee and handle the AGM paperwork.
Society solarShops, offices, warehouses and small factories on HT or LT commercial tariff, where solar displaces the most expensive units on your bill and qualifies for accelerated depreciation.
C&I solarSolar plus lithium storage for homes that want the fridge, lights and Wi-Fi to stay up during an outage — without running a diesel generator in a Mumbai monsoon.
Hybrid systemsNational portal registration, DISCOM feasibility, vendor empanelment, inspection coordination, meter replacement and the DBT subsidy claim. Filed and followed up by us.
Subsidy supportMumbai dust and salt-laden coastal air cost you 8–15% of your generation if panels go unwashed. Scheduled cleaning, inverter health checks and generation reports.
Solar AMCChoose the right system
Nearly every Mumbai home should be on-grid. The other two exist for specific problems — here is when each one is the right answer.
Panels feed your home first; surplus units flow to the grid through a bidirectional net meter and come back as credits on your bill.
Panels charge a battery bank through a charge controller. The house runs entirely off stored energy, with no utility connection involved.
A hybrid inverter runs your home, charges a lithium battery for essential loads, and still exports surplus to the grid.
How it works
The order matters here — skip a step and your subsidy claim gets rejected. This is the sequence we run for every Mumbai installation.
We measure usable shadow-free area, check structural feasibility and read your last six bills. In Mumbai, shadow from the neighbouring tower decides the design more than roof size does.
System size must stay within your sanctioned load. You get a single-line diagram, a panel layout, a generation estimate and a fixed price — in writing.
We register your application on the PM Surya Ghar portal and file for technical feasibility with Adani, Tata Power, BEST or MSEDCL. Typically 8–20 days.
Mounting structure, ALMM-listed modules, BIS-certified inverter, earthing and lightning arrestor. Two to four days on a residential roof, with the terrace left clean.
We coordinate the inspection, submit the commissioning report and follow the bidirectional meter installation until your export starts registering.
The central subsidy lands in your bank account by DBT after commissioning. We hand over the monitoring app login and schedule the first cleaning visit.
Why Shakthi Solar
High-rise terraces, salt air, monsoon downtime and four different distribution licensees. A design that works in Pune does not automatically work here.
Not before. A quote issued over the phone is a guess, and in a city where towers overshadow terraces by 2 PM, that guess costs you generation for 25 years.
Hot-dip galvanised mounting, marine-grade fasteners and elevated structures where the terrace is in use. Specified for the wind load your building actually sees.
Survey, design, installation, DISCOM liaison and service sit with us. You are not chasing three vendors when the inverter throws an error in year two.
Service area
We survey and install across the island city, both suburban belts and the extended MMR. If your pin code is not listed, call — we very likely still cover it.
Recent work
Residential
Elevated structure over an in-use terrace, keeping the drying area free while clearing shadow from the adjacent tower.
Housing society
Sized against lift, pump and lobby consumption so the society bill drops without touching individual flat meters.
Commercial
Daytime load matched almost unit-for-unit, so nearly all generation is self-consumed at the commercial tariff rather than exported at APPC.
Straight answers
A 3 kW rooftop system typically lands between ₹1,80,000 and ₹2,10,000 before subsidy, depending on roof type, structure height and cable runs. After the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy, most homeowners are investing ₹1,10,000 to ₹1,35,000 net.
High-rise terraces cost more than independent houses — elevated structures, longer DC runs and crane or hoist access all add to it. That is why we survey before quoting.
Under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, residential consumers get ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW and ₹78,000 for 3 kW and above. The ₹78,000 is a hard cap — a 5 kW system gets the same central subsidy as a 3 kW one.
The money is credited by DBT to your bank account after the DISCOM commissions your net meter. Only ALMM-listed panels and BIS-certified inverters qualify, which is the single most common reason claims get rejected.
Look at the name printed on your electricity bill. Adani Electricity serves much of the western suburbs, Tata Power covers parts of central and south Mumbai, BEST serves the island city, and MSEDCL covers Thane, Navi Mumbai and the extended MMR.
You cannot choose your licensee — your address decides it — and each one has its own portal, empanelment rules and approval timeline. We file with all four.
The terrace is common property, so you need a society resolution or NOC before anything goes up. Most Mumbai societies start with a common-area system that offsets lift, pump and lobby bills, because that needs no individual meter changes and shows a result on the very next society bill.
Individual flats can then be brought in through group net metering. We prepare the committee presentation, the shadow analysis and the resolution draft.
Generation drops roughly 25–40% across June to September. That is already priced into our estimates — we size on an annual average of about 4.0 to 4.2 effective sun hours a day, not the 5.2 you see in a summer brochure.
Net metering is what carries you through: surplus banked in the dry months offsets the monsoon shortfall on your bill.
Two to four days of physical work on a residential roof. The full timeline — application to a working net meter — is usually 45 to 90 days, because DISCOM feasibility takes 8 to 20 days and post-installation inspection plus meter replacement takes another 10 to 18 days.
There are no moving parts, so mechanically almost none. What Mumbai does demand is cleaning: coastal salt, construction dust and monsoon grime can cost 8–15% of your generation if panels are left unwashed. Our AMC covers scheduled cleaning, inverter health checks and a generation report you can actually read.
Send us your last electricity bill and your building address. You get a shadow-aware system size, a fixed price and a subsidy figure — not a phone estimate.
